MY TAKE:
I used to be a huge fan of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, so I was really interested in reading this one.

Chicken Soup for the Soul is the original book in the series, plus 20 more recent submissions to celebrate Chicken Soup for the Soul's 20th anniversary.

At first I wasn't sure if I actually was able to read the original book, but a lot of the stories in this book were familiar to me. That's okay, though, because the stories in this book are mostly timeless. I found myself pretty emotional after reading a few of the stories in the book. There were some entries which I found myself skipping over, but it's because I prefer the entries that tell actual people's stories over the ones that are more essay-like.

Thanks to NetGalley and Open Road Integrated Media for the e-copy.

THE GOOD:

  1. There are plenty of brand-new stories.
  2. A lot of the stories are able to stand the test of time.
  3. The stories are inspiring.

THE BAD:

  1. If you've read the original book over and over and practically have it memorized, the 20 new stories might not feel enough.

FAVORITE QUOTE/S:
