Blog Tour: The Return of Benjamin Quincy by Susan Lute

For this Blog Tour, we have an interview with Susan Lute, the author of The Return of Benjamin Quincy.

What was the hardest thing about writing this book?
Every book is a learning experience. The hardest thing about writing The Return Of Benjamin Quincy was Grant. He kept popping in when I least expected him. Finally I had to promise the guy a book of his own, and send him on vacation to get him off page.
Which of your characters can you relate to the most?
That would definitely be Sydney. I'm a city girl who lives in the country. And I love to travel, experience new places.
Which part of the book was the easiest to write?
The easiest to write was the relationship between Ben and Isabel. That came to me fully formed. Isabel being a fish out of water – much like I was as a kid – made me want to hug her, and make everything better.
Which actors would play the main characters in the movie version of the book?
Kristen Dunst would play Sydney, and Ben would be played by Jake Gyllenhaal.

Which songs would be on the soundtrack of the movie version of the book?
This was fun because I don't write to music, and figuring out what the soundtrack might be gave me a good excuse to listen to a lot of music. Here are my picks: What Hurts the Most by Rascal Flatts, Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson, Rolling In The Deep by Adelle, I'm Yours by Jason Mraz, Don't You Wanna Stay by Jason Aldean, with Kelly Clarkson.
Any future books in the works?
I love telling stories, so I'm always working on more than one project. Next up: Fall From Perfection, a women's fiction about a doctor whose carefully planned life takes a disastrous left turn. The Dragon's Thief, a Dragonkind novel, and post apocalyptic paranormal romance about a world where life is fragile, and most of the roads lead to a powerful evil. Four more books in the Dragonkind series. Bear's Full House, Book 2 (there will be four when I'm done) in the Falling For A Hero series. Of course, Grant's story, and a contemporary romance anthology that should come out this summer.

ABOUT SUSAN LUTE:

Like all children of military families, Susan spent her childhood moving from one duty station to the next. An ardent student of human nature, she acquired a love for ancient history and myth, a fascination for the ridiculous and unusual, and is the first to admit, she still collects way too much useless information.

These days, when not working as a Registered Nurse, she writes whenever she can. When not writing, her favorite things to do are spend time with family, read, watch movies, garden, take black-and-white photos, travel, and remodel her house.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

All Benjamin Quincy wants is to make a stable home for his ten year old daughter in the town he grew up in and left in bitter disappointment. Young and hot headed, he made a mistake.

Eleven years later, he’s a divorced, single dad with a troubled child, and a lot to make up for.

Sydney Marshall has finally snagged the perfect job at a coveted travel magazine in New York.

Does she care that her ex has returned to the tiny town of Rosewood with a precious daughter who’s not hers?

Does it matter that every time he comes near, her heat flutters madly like in the old days? No! Her bags are packed; plane tickets are stashed in her carry on bag; the adventure of a lifetime is about to begin.

There’s only one problem. Life and Rosewood have a penchant for interfering in the best laid plans.
